Abstract:
As the most important mystical concept, truth is the culmination of human perception of their relation to the universe and to the creator of the universe (Haq ). These general concepts cannot be uttered through theoretical framework, thus they enter into the realm of metaphors, which are the resulting images of the relation between the components of this whole. The mechanism whereby an idea is transformed into a metaphor and the examination of its application in illuminating the two important motifs of mysticism, truth and Path (tariqat) , are the subject of this analysis. In Hans Blumenberg’s thought, an absolute metaphor starts with a fundamental primordial principle. Concepts are transferred from objectivity to the metaphysical plane, and through repetition and making connections between the components of the concept, an absolute metaphor is formed and becomes axiomatic. The development of these two concepts from the fundamental primordial principle of contrast between world of command (non-material world) and world of creation (material world) , and the “path” between them to their transformation into metaphors, and creation of expressions, and also their impact on formation of mystical metaphors will be studied.
